Prototyping Technician
Some of the things you’ll do
The Prototyping Technician role is based in the pilot line for battery cell manufacturing and is dedicated to prototype-scale production rather than mass production. The position encompasses supporting R&D activities, particularly Design of Experiments (DoE); integrating design changes into equipment and fixtures through re-tuning or modification; executing prototype builds; troubleshooting and repairing pilot equipment; and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
Operate pilot-scale line and equipment for battery cell prototyping, ensuring accurate execution of defined processes
Support prototype builds across different stages of the battery cell manufacturing process (e.g., electrode preparation, assembly, formation, testing)
Create, review and update line operation documentation handed over from engineering teams, ensuring smooth transfer into prototype operations.
Fabricate or provide 3D-printed parts when required to keep equipment operational.
What We´re looking for

A university degree is not required; however, significant hands-on experience (e.g., 3+ years) in mechanical and/or electrical roles within an industrial manufacturing environment is essential.
Experience as a production or laboratory technician, ideally in prototyping, pilot lines, or R&D support.
Competence in CAD modelling (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent) for product and equipment-related tasks.
Competence in data collection, process documentation, and reporting.
Team-oriented mindset with flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
Good problem-solving skills with the capability to troubleshoot equipment issues and implement effective modifications.
Experience with experimental trials, lab equipment, or pilot-scale operations.
What you will get
We can promise you that you will be challenged, develop your skills and have the opportunity to work with truly amazing and competent colleagues. If you like changes and want to set new processes and ways of working - this is the place for you!

About Altris
Our journey began in 2015 when Ronnie Mogensen, a master’s student at the Ångström Advanced Battery Centre at Uppsala University, came across an enlightening study on sodium-ion batteries by the renowned scientist and Nobel laureate, John B. Goodenough. In search of a cathode for his master’s degree experiments, Ronnie teamed up with his supervisor, Associate Professor Reza Younesi, and material chemistry expert, Associate Professor William Brant. Together, they innovated their first Prussian White process.
